I run a report directory on my site, and I'm seeing an increasing number of articles being presented, only for the backlink given in the Resource Box. This might be because of the growing variety of PLR articles and material that is becoming available.
Today, there is certainly not anything wrong with this, I just think that authors who are doing this are passing up on potential traffic and/or consumers. Such source boxes is only going to gain their site rankings in incoming links that are valued by any search engine.
Is this a bad thing? No. We learned about linklicious
by browsing newspapers. Where they're losing out can be as follows.
Much of the traffic to my article index comes from search engines, by people searching for information on a particular topic. Now, this user types within their key words, clicks o-n the search field, and is given a summary of related sites. They chose one, and are taken up to the author's article. They browse the article about, say, snowboarding, think 'This is interesting' and go to the author's source field by the end of-the article to see what else they have to say on this issue. There, they find a link to a site promotion cellular ringtones. May be the reader going to be impressed, or thinking about this? Not so likely. They want to learn about snowboarding, not personalize their phone. I believe among three things may happen then:
The reader leaves the complete site in disgust.
The viewer clicks on the link to a related article.
The viewer clicks on the related Google AdSense (or similar contextual advertising) offer.
They don't click the author's reference link. If you have an opinion about history, you will possibly claim to check up about backlinks indexer
. That is a potential consumer dropped, very probably for good.
Yes, put a link in to your site in the resource package, but many article directories let several links, therefore for goodness sake put a link in that' ;s linked to the article subject too, and ultimately put it in first, before you lose the customer.
'But my site does not have any such thing regarding that subject onto it'!
Then add something which does. Put a post listing, and have the resource field saying 'To read more articles on this issue, just click here.' Add a web directory, and have the text say 'To look at links to websites on this issue, click the link.' Or simply head to ClickBank, look for related tasks, and have a link to them, with the link saying something similar to 'If you prefer to learn more on this subject, buy this product.' Ideally, not just a direct url to the merchandise, but a cloaked or redirected one.
Using this method, you still get that connect to your site that you were after initially, but, also, you have the chance to make money from the audience in a brand new way. A win-win situation. Plus, you do not appear to be somebody just distributing purchased material on any matter only for the benefit of the backlink it'll give you. A more professional look. Isn't it worth making the effort to create better use of your reference package?.
