My mom was visiting recently and during our mother-daughter shopping time I discovered something interesting. Almost all of the merchants I made a purchase at asked me if I had want to get on their email list. That is very wise.
However, the WAY in-which they did this made a big difference in my own response. I said NO to almost all of them because they simply did not allow it to be enticing for me. After all, who DESIRES more spam? Therefore if I'd want to be on your mailing list if you just ask me, the answer will often be NO.
But one store particularly got me. To start with, it had been a designer apparel store I loved. Second, they did not ask me if I wished to be on the subscriber list. They invited me to become 'VIP Client.'
Say what 'VIP' to me and my ears improve. It of course is short for 'crucial person.' And generally it indicates a level of prestige and benefit. Suddenly I DESIRED to become on that email list, specially when the salesman told me it included certain benefits, such as for instance early notice on private trunk shows, an individual buying service, and new arrivals. Understandable
includes new info concerning the purpose of this hypothesis.
And do you know what? I'd have also paid to participate that - to be regarded as a VIP.
You see, people DESIRE to be a part of some thing special like ezine advertising. The example above was free. But don't underestimate how much your customers or customers will PAY to achieve that, either.
Example: A friend of mine recently shared he gives $15,000.00 annually to participate in the President's Club of the local playhouse, though he and his wife might attend each show there just for $150.00. Why would even a faithful attendee need to spend 100 times more? Specific therapy like favored seating, valet parking, encourages to VIP functions, private restaurant for members only, network using a high level of men and women, an such like.

I call it 'nation clubbing' your business. Why be the driving range having an hourly cost when you are able be the sophisticated six-figure account team down the street? You can provide both obviously, but look at what will sky-rocket your company FASTER, with less deals and higher quality customers.

This group of 15 serious small business people each pay $15,000.00 a year to have greater use of me than someone else, and in a small group environment where we meet 3 times a year at lavish 4- and 5-star hotels and resorts.
My Platinums are, basically, VIPs within my world! And because I maintain a little of mystique about the group, people seem to want 'in' even more. (One of my people got cornered in the girls room at my last On the web Success Blueprint Workshop by many delegates who needed to know how they could enter Platinum!)
I share this to not impress you, but to impress upon you that in industry (yes, *yours*) there's a percentage of people who will gladly pay MORE - much more - for an increased degree of service or treatment.
