Needless to say, I'm not surprised 85% of executives don't want to start arguments they feel they will lose. That meeting, in vulgar terms, sucked. The executive made it clear he'd been counting on renting the property, but my problem, from an epidemiological point of view, is that his behaviour in that regard did not stack up: the pattern of his actions didn't fit the pattern of his words. For example, he apologized for the three hour delay, but then admitted it was because he and his girlfriend had had a leisurely breakfast together. This after I'd battled my way through gasket-blowing traffic in Toronto.
Certain other statistics are collected such as time when the emotion was recorded as well as where the writer was and if possible age and gender. These feelings are then transformed into animated coloured dots of different sizes depending on how long the description of the feeling was. These dots dance around on a dark back ground. The software comes with all sorts of tools that allow one to analyse the information further.

William Kamkwamba shares with us his tale of triumph as a 14 year old boy challenged by hunger and poverty in search of an education. His parting gift, "Trust yourself and believe. Whatever happened don't give up." There is always more to do and more to learn. Push yourself to be better in 2010 and challenge yourself to improve the status quo.
But what about the idea of education for education's sake? Isn't that what college is supposed to be about - making you smarter, more savvy, more cosmopolitan? Ideally, yes. However, in today's world, anyone who wishes to become smarter and savvier does not need to attend college. The Internet can provide you with an amazing low cost or free education
It's almost impossible to decide which talk really grabs ones attention more. I was particularly fascinated by the presentation of a computer scientist and artist whose work is amazing. It so impressed me that it made me think of the new list of the seven wonders of the world.
Trust God. Lose track of your abilities and know that God is your supply. Consider how big and powerful He is. Your problems are small to Him, and He can help you through them. If He so made the universe and everything that exists, He can most certainly get you out of your situation.
1) What is not being said? What is the sacred cow (in Seth Godin's words)- the thing that people keep clinging to, but really shouldn't be? Is there some grit in your industry that you can speak out about? Can you shine a light on something that needs discussion and then lead the way? Often, speaking up about what needs to be said is an effective way to build your brand and get attention. You don't necessarily want to post about things you don't really care about or don't believe in, but there are times where some truth rises up that just needs to be said. Why not by you?
Now practice thinking for twelve minutes. Set a timer and write for twelve minutes. Read for twelve minutes and notice how many thoughts twelve minutes can hold. Go for a twelve minute walk or do twelve minutes on the treadmill. Set a timer for twelve minutes and enjoy a long hot shower. Relax and enjoy the sensation for twelve full minutes.
It is not about age per se. Getting older can also mean getting better if you keep a fresh outlook and stay young at heart. The wisdom that comes with age is priceless but don't get too stuck in your ways. Look at Madonna who rose to fame in the 80s topping the charts in the 90s and can still fill large arenas and entertain Super Bowl crowds in the 2000s! How does she do it and what can we in business learn from her success?
Tom Thum is an Australian singer who mixes jazz, electro, and hip-hop in his music. He appears to be an internationally known artist, at least famous enough to get mentioned in the Huffington Post. But the thing that wows everybody is his ability to create entire songs without the use of instruments or drums and not sing acapella. He plays trumpets without having a trumpet, bass without having a cello, synthesizer without software, and drums without a drummer. How can this be? The truth of the matter is Thum is one of the best beatboxers skilled in mimicking musical instruments, which sound like an actual live band.
